I am so bummed about hatching shipped eggs lately that I think I will check into shipped chicks instead but don't seem to find many breeders that do that. Am I not looking in the right places????? I just expected to do sooooooooooooo much better when I got the new incubator for Christmas.

Galavina: Got my fingers and toes crossed for your hatch! It sounds like everything is going well. Are lav silver sussex the same as coronation sussex? I don't know much about the sussex except the speckled ones LOL. I fell in love with coronation sussex at the Newnan show...they are so gorgeous in person.

OMG I have baby easter ducks!!!! I just went out to check everyone's water and looked into the broody ducks nestbox on the patio and wow a hatched eggshell! So I looked under her and she has one yellow and black one and one blackish one that just hatched and I saw another egg with a big hole in it. I'm so excited these are my first ducklings that hatched from my own duck

ETA: galavina: You might have to help me figure out who's who in this mess after they are all hatched out. Since the birchens don't have feathered shanks and one hatched out black and one is blue and one the wyandottes is black or dark blue LOL! I also have a black olive egger in there too that I took from the mean momma.

There I was at the feed store.... added Cuckoo Maran & Crele Penedesenca peeps to my grain / hay order.... seemed normal .. right???? Looking forward to these peeps growing up and comparing egg colors

Still looking for BCM peeps but at this late date I may have to skip it.
