The Eternal Question....PLATE OR MATE?

I do not have a problem with anyone saying plate, I've never had roasted Marans

but here are three Marans roos (young, all under 10 months if I remember correctly) and input is greatly appreciated. Again, if everyone or almost everyone concurs, as Geebs gave her opinions in person, as well, then into the freezer they go! Sorry the pics are not the best, I asked my son to snap some off, weather has been downright crappy and the days the sun is shining I have to spend with the litter of 13 pups

also, these roos are in quarantine with a few others so the stall does not have a lot of natural sunlight (what's that???).

Thanks.

hey Sea!
I've been hiding under a pile of blankets with a box of kleenex, hot tea, and meds hoping to get better. Finally feeling more human again.

That's too bad your hatch of the blue birchens was so bad

Yeah...I've heard that x raying hatching eggs can fry the embryos. I've never had problems with it,but have heard of others with experiences of this happening. I hope you are able to get two pullets since you already have some boys to work with.

I am having such a hard time...I just went by the incubator again to check the temp and humidity and am hearing the wee ones just cheeping away in there. I am crossing my fingers, eyes, toes, etc hoping that this whole hatch goes well. I've had pretty good luck this year on hatching eggs, so I'm hoping I'll have lots of blue birchens and lavender silvers to work with. I can't wait to meet them all!

I'm hoping if the weather behaves tomorrow and if I'm feeling good I want to get out to try and take some photos. Its shocking how much my chicks have grown in the last week!
