Thanks Math and Snowbird!
Am I closer to preferred:
wideness of the topline
length of back
with these guys, as compared to my big roo?
These guys are just beginning their juvie molt - just starting to discard wing feathers and some body feathering.
#1 is looowwww on the ranking...I really think he keeps tail low, never crows, etc. to keep out of trouble!
Will be interesting to see how he develops when I take #2 (the boss) out of the pen!
#2 yes, the tail has become increasingly held to the side - what causes that? He wasn't that way before, but also didn't have a lot of tail before!
#3 no white undercolor - been watching!
You're either seeing pinfeathers or yougurt from lunch!
Question:
Will the hackles, that are coming in now, molt in the juvie molt or are they for adult color?
Where, on a chicken's back, do you see a roach?
Is it just the back rising, rather than falling in a shallow U or is it in specific place on the back?
