I like the idea of converting a horse trailer to haul your chooks across the country. I think they would love it and hauling 40 birds I think it would provide a more comfortable ride for them. Great Idea! Can't wait til you are over here! Hoping you have a very very safe and uneventful trip when you do head over.

I just got 5 BCM's on Saturday from Keara, she was 100% sure 3 are pullets, and 80% sure the other 2 are pullets, they are about 12 weeks old. I'll post some pics as soon as I take some.

These are some pretty birds, I can't wait to see what color eggs they lay! I'm hoping for some very dark or speckled eggs. I'm new to this breed (and chickens in general) so I'm digging through this thread and enjoying all the pics!

Pink: I love the website!!! A complimentary critique. I am not crazy about the pose on the boy on Welcome page.... IMHO this should be a showcase picture. I see a bird that is not representing himself in the best pose... (I would upgrade as this is the doorstep.... for the BEST curb appeal) I was able to get around the site easily. It is very user friendly and seems to have lots going on. I love to rabbit trail so the extra links are nice.

Personally I was looking for "stud" pages... any of us who know BILL and GNARLES will no doubt be looking for them... I can tell you the names of the favorite males that breeders I know have listed.... It is a little thing but it is like brand identity... Bill is "off the hook" and I personally am waiting for you to put up that page....

OH and I LOVE THE PINK!!! This is just what I see... I am only one person... this is meant as a helpful critique not as criticism so please take it with a grain of salt... I wish I had a website!!!

I would love to come up and take pictures for you website if we do an 'eat and greet'!!!! LOL I remember somewhere a wonderful picture of a basket and another of a hen in a box that I thought were so endearing that you posted in the past.... and don't you have a colored coop???? I know this is a work in progress so again.... grain of salt... I don't know the first thing about BUILDING a website.... just a keyboard jockey's opinion...

I'm not crazy about Gnarles photo on the front either...I am searching through my endless stock pile of photos for a better one. I know I have one...it's just a matter of finding it. LOL!

Good morning all

Talk about DISGUSTED!!!!

I had 17 eggs in the bator. Friday night, about 11 started rocking and peeping. Went to bed about 11:00 after I checked the bator/hatcher for temp and humidity. Woke up about 3am for a tinkle, checked again, all was well. Awoke at 7am, went to check the bator. One chick has hatched! Then I look at the thermometer... 107!

Yup, chick is panting so I cool it down. No more rocking or peeping

What is wrong with me??? This was going to be my best hatch ever, then the temps spike for NO REASON??? By all counts, I should've hatched at least 11 chicks out of 17, but I got ONE! Time to get a Sprortsman, I am so sick of this crap! Has anyone had any experience with the Dickey incubator also? Much the same as the Sportsman, but a slightly cheaper price tag. I am just sick about this...and now have a lone chick to raise again. With my luck, it will be a roo too.
