I know I have seen barrels like this out on craig's list here in WI but not sure what size they are. Wish I could send you some of our weather today- sunny but very windy so on the chilly side.

Please tell me is this splash, mottled, what? All my other splash look different then these.

The cheapest I've seen the food grade plastic barrels around here is about 15.00 each. I wouldn't want to use anything except food grade. I was looking at them last year when I was researching for my rain barrel set up.

Raven, that certainly is an odd-colored bird....feathers on the legs, or no? I wish we could move forward in time and see what it looks like a year from now.

What is the thing you call "sunny"?

Don, I don't know if this has been asked of you and I overlooked it or not.....but, what kind of feed/water system do you use with your hen separation barrels? I can't imagine individual units in each barrel that have to be tended every day, yet I don't see any kind of "system" either, unless it is on the backside of the barrels. I am trying to get a grip on how many man-hours per day is required to run your operation, not to mention the time involved in constructing it in the first place.
I have worked on commercial fryer farms out here and it is hard enough keeping up with large numbers of birds when they are all together in these huge multi-level commercial barns with automatic everything...I would be very interested in seeing pics of your feeding/watering systems.
