IF you know who you got her from I might could tell you fo' sho' if she is from me, you can PM the info if you like.

How old is she? Is she feather legged? Is she huge, like just an all around hefty bird? If indeed she is from me......she looks like a product of my Bill. Did the person get them from me as chicks or as eggs, do you know?

Geebs brought her over with a little wheaten that's rather nice as well. We were doing some good ole fashioned barter. Veggie starts for chickens! I think she actually got BB from Lensters if I remember correctly. She's just started laying again. Shes really lovely.

Look long and hard to see if there any birds (Birchens) that your dear friend Pink can't live without while you are there.

Wow, glad I don't use that much probably around 600 lbs each month

free ranging sure cuts down on my feed bill....

but the neighbor needs to buy more bird seed and catfood!!!

(kidding)

I use probably 200 pounds.. (small flock) However I use lots of grains... I think they stay fuller, longer on them.

probably more like 300....just did math... (not chicken math) I go through more when my son's airsoft gun is broke (squirrels)

I am sorry, I don't know what I was thinking....for some reason I doubled that in my mind. It's 600+ lbs. a month. I remember now....I was converting 600 Lbs in my mind to how many bags that would be ...approx. 12- 50 lb. bags. Doh!?!? You know...thinking 12 and typed 1200.

Yes they free range but, at as of last night, I am know housing and feeding 132 adult birds and that doesn't count the 40 some odd chicks or juveniles that range from ages 2.5 weeks to just over 3 months.

We give laying mash to the main coop in the a.m. along with a bit of cracked corn but overall, the birds are out early free ranging and come back at dusk with HUGE crops, full of bugs and goodies. That's about the only good thing I can say about all this rain at the moment; the seeds are forming and great for the chooks, the bugs are in abundance!! Interestingly enough, despite having horses and cattle, the fly population is WAAAAAAY down!!

My Leghorns free range even further every day and man, they are egg machines! When they were cooped up over in the small barn when first moved from the main coop, they went on strike and didn't lay for a couple of months

As soon as they were let out to free range, they were happy happy birds and cranking out eggs every day. They had already gone through their moult before we moved them so it wasn't that and the year before, they continued to lay right through winter, religiously.

But its funny to go into the main coop at night and see them teetering for balance cuz their crops are so full, they are not real well coordinated!

We are fast and furiously building more tractors and have over 120 birds at the moment, NOT counting the turkeys!
