Debbi, it can be frustrating. By 14 weeks you'd have saddle feathers. All of my boys start getting them in at about 10 weeks. Also, the coppering in the body is my give away. Post some pics and we'll help ya!
Pink~ Thanks girl! Right backatcha on the eggs!! WOW those are gorgeous!!!

I think we were 97 yesterday.... Anyone want to trade with me ? ?
Nice eggs Pink... I found a nice one today. I would of thought is had been laid my one of my older girls, specifically my BCM. HOWEVER, that BCM is in the broody area with the three new bcm chicks....
So, one of the newest BCM egg layers has laid me a nice size and color egg. I wish I could catch and identify the darlin.
We are new to Marans and really liked the Birchens... I thought I would post some pictures of one of the pairs we have. We hatched these out and I was looking for other Birchens to compare them to...not an easy feat. Any input on our birds would be appreciated. Still too young to lay, so I am not sure of egg color yet.
Hi everyone, I have three-18 week old BCM roos, and I can only keep one. Do you mind looking at my pics and telling me who (if any) should stay. They are just my little backyard flock, but I'd like them to be as "correct' as they should be.

This guy is very dark. He is as red in his hackles as the third pic shows. Not much copper at all

Thanks for any help-I'm lousy at making decisions.
