About the Camera, Sometimes the Camera will show things we miss with the eye.

I agree that sometimes it will...the way it picks up how light plays on something can also change somethings appearance. In every photo class I've ever taken, they talk about it regularly.

OK, so now that I have led you guys or gals down this road..... We are almost at the destination....

Let me take a little / brief detour for just a minute.

This is momma EE

This is daughter olive egger.... She is smaller because her momma is hiding a drawf gene. This is the second chick I have hatched from her using two different roosters and both chicks were smaller than her. So, I know it is all in momma's genes and won't be hatching anymore chicks from her. I want you to notice the difference in the rumps...

I hope the pictures SHOW want I am seeing in real life. Are you seeing that even though the daughter is smaller than momma, her tail is less pinched?

I have tons of photos of my birds and I update them regularly to keep track of the little lovelies...and I agree with you 100% about the lighting. I know that somewhere in the piles of photos I have, I know I have some photos of my blackest birds and in life they are not laced, but the photos sure make them look it. Some of the photos make them look like the feather shaft is almost white or has a horrible glare and it illuminates them 10 fold.
Don't have time to dig through them this morning as Gramma and I are taking my daughter to George Fox U today and moving her into her dorm room, parents are advised to let them settle in for the first 6 weeks, before hammering them with phone calls- 6 WEEKS

I'll never make it...I'm all sorts of blubbering.

Thanks for the congrats on the GBaby everyone....little Kamden William and parents are doing great. Will have photos later.

Dull black is not a quality that one would want in a BC. BC and Brown red has a unique looking black that is very black visually with no hint of gray/blue/dilution.

Even though I have found nests in the chickens' coops they don't seem to bother the birds and the birds don't go after them, even if they are on the ground.

Don't get mad at me for saying this but....Please cut those string off that hen's apron in the lower pic. I am just so paranoid about strings right now LOL.
Last week I opened up the coop in the morning and found my beautiful sweet blue Ameraucana hen dangling from the roost by a string that was wrapped around her foot. Her head was resting on the ground and her face was buried in the pine litter. I honestly thought she was dead. I think it was a string from a feed sack that got blown back into the yard during trash pickup day. I didn't notice it on her because they all put themselves to bed at night and I just go shut the door. Luckily she was just dizzy and dehydrated and after a day in the house in her carrier she was happy to go back out with her coop mates.
