By using a male from a different line over this pullet you will be covering up the fault and it will be hiding there . Out of the new line male only keep the young fowl that do not show any of the wing fault Slip or Split. Breed one of the young males back to this pullet and only keep the the young that do not show this fault. One of my mentors suggested adding new blood once every five years and breeding it back out. Some will say just dispose of the line you have and start over but I say you can make this work if you keep records and mark all chicks with toe punch or slit. Soon as the chicks are big enough wing band them and when they are adults put the permanent band on the leg. The line this pullet is from is too good to cull, as she has the good coloring and type that we want.
I eliminated this wing fault from my Buff Brahma bantam many year ago.
From here on out if you single mate until you eliminate the fault it will be much easier. If you had several pullets from a single mating you can pen mate them all as they are single mated.

This pullet would work with a splash male real well.
Don~ Thank you for the explanation of how to breed out the slipped wing. So from what you are saying and if I follow you correctly....I could feesibly get some eggs from this Blue Copper pullet, hatch them out and breed the females that do not have slipped wing to my boys and the possibilities of the slip happening again would be way less, right? Of course if she only has the Dad to this pullet, and if I got eggs there is a great chance that some of the chicks that I hatch would have slipped wing and I would treat it just like you have advised Harris to and breed to a non related roo? If I didn't make any sense just let me know......just trying to figure out how I can make offspring from this pullet work for me.....which I think I can.
