Afternoon, it has started to rain here, not hard but enough to make everything wet. Put our eggs in the incubator and estimate a hatch date of Nov 13th. Also testing a few of DS(9)'s new lt brown leghorn bantam eggs.

Cut grass and shared some clipping with all the pens- they really like that, also gave them some veg/fruit scraps.

That's what I'm wondering too...seems like maybe the weather might have something to do with it?

I finally took some pics of my elusive black marans rooster. The lighting was not good his undercoat is definitely black not off black like in this pic. He has way too many points on his comb but I love him (cuz he's the only one I got LOL).

Here he is again with miss Olive egger who loves her pic taken.

I am here, sorta. OY, got the frame of the new mini coop almost done today. I am soooo sore and broken, I plan to sit here with a beer (or 5), and dinner will be a bag of chips and bean dip, I am too sore to stand and cook.

Sure would be nice to have another pair of hands to help. Nailing corners by ones self is a witch! It was nice to have all the materials for the frame still here from building the last coop. Dragged them all out of the shed, measured and cut to size, hauled the pieces into the run, and started. Clyde was extremely interested in what I was doing to his palace! Then put the saw and tools away, took a shower, fed the dogs and cats, went to town (I was out of beer!), got gas (it's up again!), came home, put up the chickens, oops Bad Charlotte is still out! Had a beer and waited on her to decide if she wanted owls for bed buddies, she went in, and here I am. I am SPENT!

Haha...nah...its good to see that there is a solid black boy out there...makes me miss my solid black boy. This spring was horrible for losin roos....grrrr
