By the way....did you see my splash copper boy I posted pics of last night? I'm gettin my boys lined up for breeding pens...between him, gigantor, and my cuckoo claude, it should be a really good breeding season in the spring. now its just waitin for my birchen boys to finish up to see which two i will hold onto over winter for breeding.

Also looking like at least 4 of the 6 Cuckoos are cooking ....

Now all I have to do is get them to hatch ....

(Still only 1 Silkie. Those white eggs are easier to see into earlier. What will I do with just 1 Silkie?)

awesome! I'm having a brain fart...where are these cuckoos from? crossroads? or am I thinkin of different eggs?

All of my eggs this hatch are from Crossroads. Cuckoos are from Stellar Game Birds. Eggs were entered in the egg show so I'm THRILLED they are growing. (I don't even know who the Silkies are from!!!)

I have a really long way to go too! That's what I love about the Marans thread is that everyone is at different parts of the journey, but all still have work to do. I think maybe that's what makes it so cooperative. i need to get crascking on building my new pens....ugh...I just got back in from shutting up birds for the night and its pouring out. Supposed to turn to snow overnight.
and te bonus is that i burned my finger when i got home from work on a really hot metal pan....ive had an ice pack on it since 3 and its still really hot....grrr why must i be so klutsy?!

ok...good deal! I hope you have a great hatch with all of them. All of you guys doing hatches right now are making it really hard to resist hatching myself. I can't do it tho! I've got to get my numbers down!!!

At day 15- had a minute to candle the eggs and out of 12 Blue Marans eggs-11 showed good darkness in the eggs, we could see some veins and even one moving!
