Omg the last house I lived in the neighbors dog came over every day got into my brooder ate all my broilers. The neighbor paid for me to replace the broiler chicks. But continued letting his lab out. So I started catching her and hooking her up to a chain at my house until evening. Then one time he wipped out my entire turkey pen "just playing" I hooked her up to the chain and called the humane society

that's crazy! Like I said, I just don't get some people! How could he not see that the dog was causing huge issues?! AGHHHH

I don't have cows at the present time, but when I do I make sure that all my neighbors know that if I see a dog chasing or harassing my livestock I will kill it. I feel the same way about my chickens.

If I see a coyote or weasel after them, I will kill it.

If I observe a dog killing my chickens, I will kill it. All my neighbors know this.

Last year we were riding the horses through my friends corn field, like 2miles from my house and I had my catahoula and my 3yr old daughter's 8mos old catty pup tory. I looked back and & tory was gone turned around and went back about 100ft looking for her. Figured she had stopped to potty. I called her and she came running down the road along side us. heard a loud bang and the guy had shot her right in the middle of the road. She hadn't even gone into his yard. Just couldn't get back into the corn field cause she was scared of the water in the ditch.We had been ridin on that road with our 2 catahoulas every other day he had seens us.. My daughter would wave and he'd wave back. My daughter was really upset! I do respect other peoples homesteads and my dogs have a underground wire they work cows, my cows. But to kill a dog that poses no threat I don't understand and He had seen us go by on the horses. I'm not going to kill another persons pet unless I catch them in the act and its not a pup.
