I'm not sure....I've been wondering how long I can hold off hatching and the more I hear about it, the more I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna be able to resist

I just don't know what I might have laying then that I want to set. I was thinking maybe some tester eggs from Gigantor and Big Boy, and test out some of these birchen boys I've kept. I don't want to even think about trying to ship eggs...plus the more I think about how much there is with the carnations going around...I'm really thinking about closing the flock....

I also think that this chick is a pullet....but don't hold me too that.

Oooh, I love hearing that! (the pullet possibility)

I can't follow the thread either Cheryl....it moves faster than this thread. But I do try to pop in and catch up on what I can. I voted myself the worst participant last year.

This will be my 3rd year hatching out NYD babies...too much fun and adds a little excitement to the New Year as us old fuddies like to stay home.

I will be hatching whatever is laying. Really hoping for some more Barnie eggs but those stingy girls haven't given me an egg since I set the last 6 eggs they gave me in the 'bator and now those chicks are over a week old.

Will definitely be setting some more test eggs from Lil' Bill and hoping that Charmin decideds to lay, but I think I may be holding out hope for nothing. She probably won't lay until Spring. She is in with the large Birchen male and another Blue Copper hen that is Bill's daughter.

Hey Pinkchick...should I hang on to any eggs that I get from Dolly Parton from now until next Friday & bring them up to put in the 'bator?

I am going to hatch NYD, Should I hatch pullet marans eggs? They are not huge, maybe large. I don't mind waiting if that is too small for marans to hatch well. I have some other eggs coming. Not going to hatch a ton, I don't think... My breeding pens have been delayed because hubby got sick again... now I have a crick in my neck....

once those pens are done.... test hatching will ensue
