YUCK! I'll have to make sure I keep an eye on it. I think they would be running through Kansas around Wed afternoon to early evening. So, we'll see how it goes. I sure hope it doesn't hit hard down there for you! I think Susie might be right in the middle of the stuff up closer this way. Hope it isn't as bad as they say it might be.

Oh...I'm hoping I can try to get some pics for you of Gigantor lady....he is quite the handsome boy. He's got his shortcomings, but he is the best bird I've had and am so looking forward to seeing how he does in test mating this next spring.

No, I wouldn't feel bad either! Free Will, and all that! My Free Will seems to always get me in trouble!

I figured how bad could it be with just 5 little Silkies in the house until March??

haha...nah...if you saw all the crap I have on my plate right now...you'd probably think I'm crazy for half of the stuff I'm into now. Its not more than a couple months down the road...that will get me through the hardest part of winter and get a couple of the projects out of the way I've got lingering...and also about a dozen hens will be going to live with a friend...so I will have lots more space. Oh..and I should say.....another large part of the reason is that two of the blue copper girls I have will be old enough then to do test mating. They aren't laying yet. One thing I did notice with this molting is that his chest feathers have gotten shafting in a handful of them. He is still losing feathers here and there, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen? Its like they are ready to fall out, but haven't yet?

Some soggy bottom boys for Debbi.

This is Gnarles' son, I am calling him G2.
He is alot darker than Lil' Bill and does not have clean crisp lacing like Lil' Bill and I am seeing what looks like a tad bit of fluff at the tail or maybe it's because he is so wet. I have not seen any fluff before so I will take a second look again when he is dry. He may not look like it in this photo but this boy is a tank.....doesn't come close to Bill Sr or that large Birchen boy from Marquisella though.

Lil' Bill....he seems slightly smarter than G2 and is not as soaked. No, I promise that is not a white feather in his hackle or saddle, I have no clue why it looks like that. Funny thing is that he is not as big as the G2 and being directly from Bill Sr. I thought that he would have a bit more heft. Will give him more time because Bill was still maturing and bulking up when he was 2.

Morning everyone!

I am trying to keep up with you guys, but alas, I always find myself days behind the current topic. I am getting ready to start hatching for the new year and thought I would share my wine fridge bator. Pics are from before I had all the turners in, it can hold 168 eggs. Three or four days late, but here it is.

Oh and Vicki isn't being blamed for more hatching I am going to do.....she is being blamed for 15 cute little fuzzy butts that will be shipped.
