I love the dark blues too...but I love them even more when they have that lacing....it is a thing of beauty to me to see the precision and contrast of the two blues on the same feather. I fall in love with it over and over. like the lacing on this girl.... yummy!

YEP, THAT'S IT!!!!!!! I'm coming over there and going chicken shopping at your place. You have been warned my friend.

Lock 'em up tight and watch out for a big white truck pulling in to your drive. Maybe I can sneak in in my white truck if it is snowing and you won't even know I was there.

haha Good luck! I'm pretty sure my big boy Goliath will be after you like stink on you know what. he is about the best guard dog I've ever had. I'm pretty sure if given the chance he'd probably take off a limb of someone trying to steal.

He's never been tested, but his demeanor when someone gets too close to what he's guarding...and I would NOT want to be that person.

I'm still thinking once I get things all sorted and figured out with my different colors we should do a swappy swap down the line.

I think so...she's definitely not perfect and looks a bit rough from beginning stages of molting, but she will make a good breeder I think!

I love her coloring. Pink's coming from the west, and I'm coming from the east. You'd better watch out!

Debbi you can make it there faster than I can....hurry up! Go get that lovely girl then cross her with Myron and send me some hatching eggies!

If it is an APA sanctioned show the judge has to DQ a bird with DQ faults. If it is a small fair type show that is not sanctioned by the APA/ABA the judge has some leeway to let certain things slide, but should write on the coop card that it is normally a DQ. If the person does not realize they have a problem and win a ribbon, they will think their bird is better than it is. Can't tell you how many times I have had people come up to me and say "Why did you DQ that bird, he was champion at so and so fair"? BTW: many of these small non sanctioned shows use judges that do not have a judging license, so that adds to the problem.

Walt

Hi Walt,

That was an APA show in Newnan. It was the first go around for the Black Coppers to qualify, and they didn't. Wonder why...
lol.png

No they did qualify but not during the judging etc but found out later that they did lol. I had to leave in the afternoon and they had just been judged but no final decisions of if they were accepted yet. Found out later that they were accepted.
I'm glad I wasn't judging silkies at that show (not that I'm a judge or anything) but man there were so many they were still judging in the late afternoon. Just gobs of silkies. Debbie woulda had fun looking at them all.

Vicki~ You and I ARE doing an egg swap someday know that! Would you like my list of wants right now just so you are prepared?

He don't scare me! I'll bring a cute little blue tick hound and some filet mignon for him and my problems will be solved, he'll forget all about me in the chicken coops.
