Haha no good Rauls around here maybe if I go a little further south fl they would have some. I do have the plants though LOL!! I made Blue Lagoon margaritas the other night, they were awesome! You just add in some pineapple juice and Blue Curacao to your margarita mix and tequila or you can just make it with lime juice and 7 up but i like it better the other way. Hmmm I think we need a tiki bar instead of a mini bar.

Marans marans marans...Oh vicki..caught my little black birchen girl in the corner of the greenhouse yesterday. She was sitting on a nest that had eggs from the white orpingtons and there were a few nice dark eggs in there a few shades darker than sassy's (the blue birchen girl). Sooo I'm thinking those are her eggs. Only the little girls are going into the greenhouse to lay and she is the only one in that group who lays dark brown eggs. They look awfully big for pullet eggs though but I hope they are hers. I took all the dark eggs out and tomorrow I will see if she lays another one.

Yep it seems like I am always working backwards, egg color, then body stuff LOL! Both my birchen girls seem small in size, so does the roo. Not as small as bantams or anything but not as large as say the bcms were at the same ages.

I only have Eric the Red

and one more growing up. Hows that for culling

The baby is just getting some copper in his hackles... looking promising so far. I have a Blue copper too, but no copper yet and green legs

and no feathers on his legs

I think he is a cull

I have Eric in with my layer girls to keep him happy and Blue Boy from pinkchick is in with my breeder girls. I also acquired 2 Blue copper pullets too so we will see what happens with them. I will start hatching in late Jan.

yeah...i'd say that one sounds like a cull with the legs for sure. I'm hoping you will end up with a great hatching season to propel you forward! If you ever need a second opinion you know where you can get ahold of me!
