Ok...I'm going nuts now...I got one photo to load, but now its taking forever to load any more...So, here's the first one.
This is what I see every time I come out the back door...all the birds running to see me. You'll have to excuse the angle of his tail as it was really windy and he was getting it blown around pretty good, but at least you can see his width and heft. Also, can you see how there are a couple of feathers in there amongst the over coloring on his breast that have kind of the look of shafting that just came in. I Should have thought ahead to see if I could mark the suspect feathers to see if he molted them out or if the feather turned black. I just can't tell... Before he started molting he didn't have the shafting, and it still doesn't look entirely like shafting...its odd. If I can get this other pic to load, its a close up of his chest.
Also...see that cuckoo boy in the pic..he's gonna be HUGE...he's at least 4 months behind Gigantor and already almost as big. His leg feathering is really sparse, but that's a work in progress, I just like how he's coming along!
ok...I'm gonna try adding this second close up photo. It seemed like it loaded kind of funny, but its worth a shot
Gila~ that is a good looking BCM Roo. That going to be a focus of mine this season is getting my BCM/BLCM birds bigger( taller and wider). I would say my BCM roo is average. MY BLCM roo is taller but more lean. Probably, because he isn't the dominant Roo in the group.
My favorite part of the Cuckoos is their size. I would say that my Roo is almost at wide as my BLRW but not as tall. He is still an impressive Roo, as most of the folks say when they see him.
haha...I'm takin it he should do fine for the breeding pen in spring? I will have to hunt around to see if I happened to ever get a shot of him when he was little....he was at least 80% copper in his breast when he was young. Would be hard to believe seeing him now if I hadn't raised him since he hatched.
