that's a pretty nifty set up you'v got. Around here its what my days off are filled with during the warmer months. But at least the freezer is full and get fresh eating all summer long too

Haha I already have it planned out. I am just going to get a long pink wide satin ribbon and layer the tutu material on it and sew it onto the middle of the ribbbon leaving the ends long enough to tie around him into a big ol girlie bow. So all I will have to do is pick him up (cautiously) and put it around him and tie it on...probably will have to get dh to hold him.

Haha I hope that is the attitude the other roos will take towards his tutu

I just know he will get his butt kicked when they see him in that getup lol.

You lucky girl! Maybe if you tell them of the new fad of feathers in hairdos and for earrings, they will take them too? While this community is new, they don't work for peanuts! I'll just have to get down there and see who I have to deal with. Maybe I can work a deal with them hatching eggs for them or something; although with my hatches, it would work out more in my favor!

I have a sweet set up too. One neighbor is Hispanic and another new neighbor is an avid hunter so processing is not going to be a problem with extra roos. Having a place to grow them.... that could be a problem..... since hatching seems easy with an outlet for roos

We have a guy who does them for $3 - TOTALLY worth it!!

SO decided to do his own on New Year's Day - off he went to the big farm with 30 birds.
Came home tired, smelly, and disgusted...think we'll be paying the guy $3/bird from now on! LOL

They seem fascinated with my not-normal birds and their coloured eggs, always going on about how pretty they are. And they have such tales to tell. He does a lot of work for "ethnic" folks apparently. VERY odd requests for how they want the birds prepared and another customer that was into Silkie meat on a very large scale. That had me just a TAD grossed out!!!

He will also hire out to raise animals for folks which is where a lot of his colourful stories come from.

Oh heck ya! I had to buy a small fryer today in the store, $8.11 for a 4# bird??? Well, I guess in light of all the food these porkers have in them, they'd probably be $50.00 birds, but at least it's something back!

Attention Raul, madame would like chicken fajitas and margaritas for supper tonight!

I bet he has stories and a half. The auctions around here really are interesting with the things that people go after and the things that command big money. Also...it can get pretty interesting when people don't understand the pricing on the lots and etc. There was a guy at the last auction that obviously didn't quite understand what the bids meant and charged up a single roo to $50 bucks. Went into the office to pay and gave them $10 bucks and told them that's what his bid was...

Talk about a heated argument going on!
