Spring goat and lamb is the best!! I LOVE LAMB!!! People out here though are stuck in the war years, when mutton was on many menus. So they think of lamb as the same as grown sheep. NOT the same thing, but you can't make them belive it. I told my friend one time we were eating venison, when in fact it was lamb. She LOVED IT! "That's the best deer I ever at, can I have your recipe??"

UGHHHHHH!!!!!! You're digging into my past there Debbi! haha...I lived in New Zealand for a year and mutton was on every menu possible and even preferred to beef or anything else. All I have to say is...ever eat anything that fills your nose and tastebuds with how a billy goat smells?

I choked that stuff down more times that I could count. I never used to mind lamb, but since I've been back I haven't been able to eat lamb either...just not over it yet I guess haha

Yup, that's why folks still don't eat it here. More for me I say, but I haven't had any for more than 12 years now. Thinking of getting a small flock together again. Young lamb is better than any prime rib I've ever eaten! I still don't understand why they import lamb from Australia and NZ here now?? We have many sheep farmers here growing great product, yet we import it?? For Thanksgiving I thought I'd check out a leg of lamb at the store...$70.00!!!

I can buy a whole freaking lamb, locally, for that price, and have another leg, shoulder roasts, and ribs, and lots of lambburger to boot!

...and it's gonna get worse! Not only in regards to the USPS, but with Fedex and UPS too. They will now be picking up a lot of the flack from unsatisfied customers of the Post Office, so their delivery times are going to be slower too. Instead of closing the major hubs, they need to fire the higher ups that have NO clue as to how the operation should be run!!! Cut three or four of their salaries, and save the hubs!!

For Thanksgiving I thought I'd check out a leg of lamb at the store...$70.00!!!

I can buy a whole freaking lamb, locally, for that price, and have another leg, shoulder roasts, and ribs, and lots of lambburger to boot!

You know that's not a bad idea.

I love lamb and we even have Jamison Lamb Farm local to us.
( gourmet lamb). But the prices are outragous!

. However, there are lambs at the local auction.
I wonder if I could get the local deer processor to do one for me?

x2....at the rate that greedy companies and higher ups are going...things are gonna come crashin down sooner than later in a lot of different arenas if something doesn't change

this is why I want a larger place of my own...so I can raise my own food and not pay ridiculous prices for and know what they've been fed and how they were taken care of and etc.
