Thanks! I love the coloring on the split ones. The light, wheat gold color is really beautiful.
I agree with you about the double gold. It's just not very attractive at all.
These guys range from 6 months to a year.
Can you see the comb any better in this shot? I may have to get a close up.
I appreciate the help!
I don't know about anyone else, but I'd love to see more pics close up! Esp if you have one of his head since he's turned the other way. His color is very lovely and reminds me of my boy.

Ok these pics are not great but you will get the idea.
I cut the Velcro according to the size I think I need. Usually it will last from 2 months old up if you make the Velcro long enough. I cut both pieces at the same time and just hook them together. Then I add the pipe cleaners. I always make sure the pipe cleaner were I connect them together is pointed out so the metal nubs don't rub them and hurt their legs. I also make sure the nubs are smushed down really good. You can use all different colors of Velcro, you would be surprised how many colors you can fine just in Velcro. When you add the colors and combos with pipe cleaners the possibilities go on for ever really. I use ONE color of pipe cleaner for my hatch or family then another pipe cleaner for individuals. Example, I bought 12 FBCM and they all have a Velcro tag with a green pipe cleaner. Each individual has a pipe cleaner of a different color so I can figure out who is who. One more thing I did with my Marans, I used black Velcro for the roos and white for the pullets. Just another option if you want. SO GO FORTH and MARK YOUR BABIES!
I didn't have batteries to use a flash and this is under flo. lights
I will take questions now...![]()
I don't worry about the velcro part scratching them. Just the sharp point of the pipe cleaner. They do overlap and then when you wrap around their leg it over laps again. I usually put the pipe cleaners over the original seam just for extra insurance to keep it sealed together. Go play with it.....So it is two pieces of velcro ( the fuzzy and the scratchy) kinda overlapped... How do you make sure the scratchy part is not on their leg? Hmmm... do you wrap it inside out? ok wait... I almost got it... hmmm I am gonna have to go get some velcro and study it. lol
