Ok, just wanted to share the BEAUTIFUL pullets/hens I got. Blue Cuckoos Someone give me ideas for breeding so I don't have to get another roo or pen... Olive Eggers is all we could come up with in order for me to take them home.

They are TOO pretty

They have laid me 5 eggs in 2 1/2 days

Vicki - I'm still hatching on the same schedule as you!
I candled last night and got rid about about half (it's been really cold here...)
I still have about 15 BCM eggs and maybe 7 bantam cochin eggs!

yay! I have been thinking about it today and think that I probably will end up with about 30 eggs or less going into lockdown. We'll see. I also wanted to ask if anyone has ever had the aircell develop in the small end of the egg? In all my years hatching, I've never run across it, but I have two in this batch...it looks so weird. I was candling last night and had two eggs that were really dark, so I put the light on the narrow end there is a totally developed air cell and could see that the eggs are developing right along.

I wonder if it's the time of year?? or the shape of the egg?
Mine was one of the more round-ish eggs.

These two I had were definitely on the narrow end...Not sure what that's all about, but hopefully they hatch

I will have to go back and check. I have a huge amount of emails from when i didn't have internet. Its shocking how fast they add up. Was it on here or my personal email?

haha no kidding! my friend emailed me and told me she is expecting kiddin season to start today or tomorrow. if that doesn't say spring is comin, i dont know what does?!
i think i picked up the stomach bug thats goin around.....blech!
