Sorry, VERY sorry about that guys. I did a LOT of uploading of pics from Newnan. The blues / blue coppers were the LAST group of birds that I uploaded. It didn't take long once I started posting them to realize that something wasn't right LOL.

So, I've fixed the issue and am ready to give it another shot...

Let me tell you how much this sucks... There is a submit button on the window for uploading the pictures that overlays the submit button for the post. I just clicked on the wrong button! I would go back and EDIT the post and put all the male pics together, BUT then I risk not being able to further correct my posts because I am only allowed one edit per post.

This system really could use a little more tweaking... ONE edit per post is just not enough...

Chickeney foot : To make blue coppers you need at least one blue copper and one black copper or two blue coppers or one black copper and one splash.
To make splash you need at least one blue copper and one splash or two blue coppers or two splash.
Some people try and make blue coppers with a black copper and a pure blue. It takes many generations to get the coppering right on the females hackles and the male saddles if you go that route plus the plain blue marans egg color is usually inferior to the blue and black coppers so better to use them. Blue coppers are pretty popular so a lot of people sell them or the eggs here on byc so you won't really have to 'make' them. Here's how the genetics play out. Remember the % applies to each birds chance at that color not the whole group of chicks.

black x black = all black offspring
black x blue = 50% black, 50% blue
black x splash = 100% blue
blue x blue = 25% black, 50% blue, 25% splash
blue x splash = 50% blue, 50% splash
splash x splash = 100% splash

That's it! That's all that I have with the blues / blue coppers...

Technology and I really seem to be having some compatibility issues LOL...

I just noticed that my subdirectory of misc maras....Birchens, blues, etc has 3 Pages of photos...
I only posted the first page LOL... I might find the birches and blues before the night is over with LOL...
