So excited...I got the chicks out of the house! It is so gorgeous here, gonna be in the upper 70's and lower 80's all week, so I figured today was the day! They are loving it, but I hate that i have to leave for work in a couple of minutes. Its just too nice to be at work today haha

Hi Randy!
You will appreciate the smaller feed bill with those 6 boys in the freezer. One would think that 6 roosters wouldn't make a huge impact on the feed but they do.

I skin most of the roosters that we cull as well. You will not be disappointed with the taste of the Marans meat. I pressure cook the meat most of the time to ensure tender meat. If I don't pressure cook it, I will boil it for shredded meat in enchilada's. YUMMY!!!!!!!

Lisa (who is doing laundry, my DH's dress shirts (he's job searching btw- Electric Engineer....anyone know of any jobs for a 50 yr old, level 4 EE man who's worked at TI, Sharp Electronics, Vonage, and asst other small co's for the last almost 30 yrs? His new boss decided she wants her 'own' team under her so she's letting the old team members go...just like that. Thank you very much mam!)

Hey Randy - I appears I got a golden salmon pullet my last hatch!
Think I can get info on her over in the Wheaten thread??

or any other ideas?

To all you brave souls who cull yourself - bless you!
We pay a guy $3/bird and it is SOOOOO worth it!

He plucks, rather than skins - what's the difference, other than the obvious?
