Probably better off - I had an INSANE day...
Thanks for the good thoughts, though...have to reschedule and worry once again...sigh

No idea here, Donna, but they sure are a pretty color as chicks!

Forgot... 52 babies so far. 4 blue/black coppers 4 blue cuckoo 4 golden cuckoos and 1 black? Most of my leghorns have not hatched yet, odd really... could it be because the eggs are so big they don't need to come out yet? Someone I sold Leghorn eggs to said they didn't finish hatching until the 7th day of lockdown?????

FIFTY-TWO at one time (where's the fainting icon when I need it??)
you're Much braver than I am!!

I have @200 hatching for a friend and that will be my biggest hatch ever!!
(and Really glad I'm not brooding them here!!)

Yeah, Vicki-
this spring has been awful for the kids with mental health problems who I work with...

Add puberty to mental health needs and you have a very inflammatory combination (unfortunately, quite literally for the one kid...)

I got 16 a few days ago and maybe 10 about a month old and 10 6 weeks old and 12 2 months old and 2 batches of 90 in the bator and more to set this week. I have 25 or so Marans Eggs to set, some Olive Eggers ... maybe a few others too. Selling some but most are my replacement flocks.

Morning all

Well, the storms have subsided for a bit. Lots of lightning yesterday, but nothing too wild. The Ides of March proved to be a good day here! All three chicks in the brooder are doing well; looks like 2 roos and one pullet.

Got my Silkie babies out of the house and in their own pen...FINALLY! Haven't been out there yet this morning, hope they fared well through all the storms. AND...the coup de gras! Pip became a MAN yesterday!!

He'll be 2 years old on Aug. 10th, and he has NEVER bred a hen before!!! Well, yesterday he got the deed done, with an ugly girl! Of course, he had to do it right in front of me just to prove himself! Oh the silly roo, but he is strutting much taller this morning, and maybe now his attitude will calm down with me? Bad Charlotte also has a new love. She is a very stand-offish girl, and breedings are very few and far between with her. Must be she has designs for younger men, because she is having a fling with the young Blue Copper cockerel, Pekker. He chased her, she attacked him, she chased him, and the next thing I knew...WHAMO! Looks like I'll pair her up with him first instead of Clyde. If any foolish combs are to pop up, this would be the mating to do it. Ahhhhh, springtime in the Ozarks, with all of my crazy chickens!
