I have three girls from my splash wheaten girl and BCM roo - they are GORGEOUS!!
All have beards and pea combs, 2 have feathered legs, and they are 3 different shades of blue from baby blue to navy blue!!
and oh so, sweet!

Can't wait!!!

Yep and they look good too. How are they doing now. Are they getting used to your place and getting any friendlier yet?
They are growing like absolute weeds....and are getting really sweet. They chatter at me constantly. I picked one up the other day and could not believe how much heft they have behind them either. I love their big doe eyed looks when they thing they will get treats.

I love the chatty hens. Sassy always has something to say when she sees me lol.
My girls favorite treat besides (pumpkins and watermelons) is bread lol. We have a day-old bread store near us and sometimes you can buy a restaurant sized rack of hamburger buns or sub rolls for .50 cents. Boy they love me then.

OMGosh......can't believe I am going to ask this....here goes......................... I am looking for some Blue Wheatens and possibly White Marans. NO, the Blue Wheatens are not for me. :) My best friend would like some Blue Wheaties and I would like to raise a few Whites to see what they are all about. I can't get the Bresse here which I really like so the White Marans will have to suffice. If anyone knows of good breeders of both color varieties please let me know. Thanks in advance!

Raven~ You have Whites don't you? Can you give a girl the lowdown on folks who have them?

BTW: MORNING EVERYONE!!!!!!!! Hope you all have a WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY!!!!!!!

Hi all I had a suprise waiting for me this morning in one of the nest boxes that I leave out for the free rangers. There was the lavender Orp rooster strutting around by the nest box acting all pround and clucking like a fool, so I think okay someone laid an egg early. I was bending down to pick up a waterer and heard meeeeooowww meeeoooww. Thought, 'what the heck?' Goodness, there in the box was baby kittens!!
I've seen the momma cat around before she is a stray. There is 4 babies in there. The drama never ends around here

Pink- OHBigmomma has them I am waiting right now for chicks from her. I have 2 nice pullets right now getting ready to lay but no roo. Dick Dickerson has them of course but I have not been able to hook up with him. Thistledown farms has them also. Her eggs looked good on the website but what I got was pretty light/nothing to write home about. Good Luck and let me know what you find.

Does anyone know of a good place to get Wheaten Marans from? I am wanting hatching eggs or chicks? We are from Oklahoma but would drive to TX, KS, or MO to get them. In fact hubby will be in Springfield, MO this weekend.

Thanks,
Cathie

Put my Silkie eggs in lockdown this morning. As soon as I closed the lid, one of the eggs I really want to hatch started rockin' and rollin'!

There's 22 in there, and all the eggs were dark, so guess I'll just have to wait it out. After all the chicks to hatch here, it still feels like a kid waiting on Christmas morning to me. Can't wait for the Wheatens to hatch!!
