I think...... I may...... give up the cuckoos........

Just seems like more work than I really need right now. I have a broody blue cuckoo and I was moving her today and she has gold in her hackles

I think she is the only pullet I have with feathered legs too

I am going to maybe sell some of the blue pullets (the lady that wants the cuckoos with gold wanted them too) I may move the others to an olive egger pen... I don't know if they would really make olive eggers, but I could still have some of those huge eggs

I am still going to keep that hunk of a Splash Cuckoo roo..... I have some possible blue babies I could put with him or the other young blue cuckoo sex link type roo. It would be a longer route, but it might insure that I don't have any gold leakage......

I may just use that young blue roo and put him with some of those solid blues

chicks to get me more feathered legs to put with the splash roo down the road. I will cross that bridge when I can sex those blue chicks. PLEASE DON'T HAVE ANY GOLD LEAKAGE

Barb, I just see it as I don't have another option. Got to keep moving, and doing something! The last time I went to the Ortho doc, back in '96, he told me I'd be in a wheelchair in 5 years. ???? Oh no, I won't! And no, I'm not! That's part of the reason I got chickens, they definately keep me moving! I have no knees or hip joints any more, and they've been gone for some years now. That doc said, and at the time I was still delivering mail; "I don't know HOW on earth you are standing, let alone doing what you are doing!" Stubborn, Irish pride, my man, just too darn stubborn to quit!
