I'm sure they will love the creek. MIne spend most of their time dsifting thru mud and leaves in the woods and the lawn. More time on land than in the water. LOL

and just had to share with my friends here in the Marans thread since I rarely post anywhere else. I adopted 5 adult African Geese and 2 juvenile females today and 2 of the adults are broody.....one is obviously in the middle of a hatch and the other is still sitting on 5 (was 28 but I pulled lots because they weren't any good) due to hatch any moment.

EEEEKKKKK!!!! I LOVES THEM! If I had the space, you can bet I'd have some as well! So stinking cute! If I could, I have toulouse!

What do you guys think of this little pullet? She is a Mini Mom along with her 5 pullet sisters of varying hatches a week or so apart. None are showing any copper around the neck (Mom has none). She hatched April 10th, the oldest pullet hatched March 28th. Still some hope for a necklass??

Is that a good thing that they don't have copper around the neck? Mine has had copper around her new for a good while and she is around 12 weeks or more.

They should have copper, some just take a little longer for it to come in, not sure how long though before you know for sure that they won't develop any. I am hoping at least a few of my pullets will develop some but not holding my breath..........

Looks like a pullet to me, I would not hold my breath for her necklace either .... Do yours usually molt out the white feathers?

I will try to get more pics, she is really beefy as are all of her sisters, just like Mom. About the white feathers, these pullets are from my first breeding of this pair. No idea if the white feathers will molt out but they had better!!! Not sure what the roo will bring to the table as far as egg colour either, Mom lays a consistent 6. Time will tell........... 1/3 of the chicks hatched out with one middle toe feather and I sold them right away as dark egg layers.
