Marans Thread - breed discussion & pictures are welcome!

YOu are still at the early stages, wait and see. Clearly if the vet and farrier are not coming til Sat she maybe in better shape than you think.

UVM kept a stallion that foundered, needed his blood as they only had 3 stallions. THey kept him lean and at the lowest reasonable weight, weighing him once a week. Me thinks, you are not even close to that yet.

I live in the middle of nowhere - Sat is, unfortunately, the soonest the farrier would come for a visit.
Everyone here is hustling to get their 1st cutting in the barn...so he wouldn't even come at night...
Wonderful vet is meeting him here to take radiographs and block her feet to find lameness and help her while we do the work.

I hope so - farrier was NOT hopeful. Vet was very hopeful and has lots of ideas.

YEAH! now I have more than one opinion! Thanks.

But I am NOT eating my shoe, if I'm wrong!

I have to go to NYC tomorrow (in a 105 heat index

) to see 3 specialists, so can't get you pics tomorrow, but I can get you pics of my splash cockerel and my 2 blue guys.
Unfortunately, lost my favorite splash boy to that heat wave last week. Still miss the little guy hopping up on my shoulder to do chores....

If I forget - remind me!!

Ahhh, so many drugs to keep up with.

When I went to see the specialist , he wanted me to get Claritan. When I picked up the script the cost was $30!! My copay is $10, well I handed it back. OTC is fine by me!

x2 He was loopy for weeks. Dr. told him to take motion sickness pill

didn't TOUCH it.
a heavy duty anti-vomit med and a heavy dose of the motion meds keep me from puking, but not from falling down!

I HATE having to crawl around.....SO frustrating

the WORST is turning over in bed in my sleep - it's like flying off into the stratosphere....
