Beautiful, but wasnt it worth the wait! I need to be patient too! I havent decided whether to improve my freeloading Black Coppers or not. I have Blue in the Incubator, and more Blue and Silver Cuckoo on the way. I think I love Marans the best! Or lots!

Very Very pretty birds and eggs! You're always welcome to post such eye candy! Tina/tfpets

This egg is from a 6 months old Black Copper pullet. She has been laying for about a week. It has what appears to be fine lines of white paint in very interesting patterns. The white line patterns are slightly raised, but do not rub off. It's not poop.

I've never seen anything like it. Is she sending a message??????

Greg

Preserve it! It looks like an alien message of some sort. Hey, we need a chicken egg interpreter here??? Too cool! Tina

I agree with tfpets! I think you should blow it out and spay something on it to seal it. I'am sure you may be able to sell it on E-bay for big bucks!!!!

Yes, TFPETS, it was worth the wait....hard but worth it. You know great things come in small packages don't they. When I picked up those little babies on that hot hot day, I was so afraid for them....I ran the heater in the car all the way there and on the way home and it was 95 degrees outside. What a mother hen. And when I see how big and strong and happy they are now and those purty eggs and their attitude, oh how worth it was. Can you believe I put their pen, within viewing distance of my kitchen window so I can see them out the kitchen. Oh I am poultry nuts. Well enough. Gotta run to chores and Chef, I sent you and e mail.....Blessings for all of you. Nancy

Just Cuckoos, but babies always brighten the day-
I sent eggs to the FFA project and took these so the kids could id the chicks when they hatch.

I have 6 black copper maran roosters and I have to rehome at least 4 of them by this weekend.
I have the boys choir practice going on all day out there and the neighbors are not going to be too happy if it goes on much longer.
I have one that is way more of a red color than a copper. Does anyone else have any like that and I am wondering if he should go.
I dropped my camera so I can't even post pictures to help explain what I mean.
The rest are all that copper color, good looking, feathered feet and all. Just trying to decide who goes first.
They are around 5 months old now.
One I know has way too much color, his entire breast is orange.
The others have either some scattered coloring on the breast or a completely black breast.
looking up the standards I have found conflicting opinions on how much color if any they should have on their breasts.
Its very frustrating and I am not sure how much to ask for them.
I got them from jesse and they are nice birds, just wish I had gotten more hens than roos out of the deal, but you just never know.
If anyone has 2 cents to toss in please do. Thanks.

Oh, I wish I were nearby I would love to have some. Try posting on the BST of Backyard chickens. I bet someone there would jump for joy for one or more of these!!! I know I would . Have a blessed day.
