I think we're at 5, but I haven't thoroughly counted yet. Updates later.

my hatch of 12 was not to good only got 4 , i was not very good with watching the temp and i also did a split hatch witch is hard to and messed it up doing it with a little giant w-turner-forced air i know the eggs are good
the temp jumps around and leaks air in places .if i do everything perfect and leave the lid shut and just ad water and keep a close eye on temp im sure i woulld do better .
my plans this weekend is to rip the guts out of the lg and rebuild the box out of cherry make a nice box approximately the same the square inches might be some what bigger because I will make it 2 levels deep , bottem will be for hatching top lvl will hold the turner . I hope it works , the styro foam one leaks so much around the lid ,,,,, im a good carpenter and not so good chicken farmer lol lol

I incubate in a Sportsman, and then transfer over into a HovaBator for the hatch. So far, it has worked for me.

Ione, hope you have a great hatch!

can you tell yet about roo or hen ? it may be to soon to tell by the feathers, the comb can fool me because one hen from presley line , a nice looking hen has a big comb so that might carry to the chicks u hatches or at least one chick
the other hen i have from that line has a smaller comb more like the second generation davis hen i have .
keep posting pics as they grow
its cool to see them grow

The official current count is 6 1/2 -- different 1/2 than the earlier 1/2.

I'm quite pleased with the fertility. I put 8 eggs in the bator, and 7 made it to the hatching stage. It looks like all 7 will hatch. Couldn't ask for much better!

OTOH there's also several black copper eggs in the same batch -- and NONE of them are even pipped yet! I don't think they had good fertility, but even with my 120 lumen flashlight I haven't candled them well. Now you can cross your fingers for those guys to get busy and start hatching!
