Marbles in the water

I was wondering how old my chicks have to be before I stop putting marbles in the drinker. I have a 1-quart plastic chick drinker with a shallow, circular base.

I think the first 3 days out of the egg are the most important, but just to be on the safe side maybe add a couple, but for sure after a week.

5 days is about right. I've taken some out sooner, like 3 days without any issues. It's a pain once they start kicking shavings in the waterer.
