March 2017! Hatch with us!

What do you think of these air cells? It's day 13 and they are turkey eggs. Two are really wobbly, that's why there's extra lines. All have poults developing. I've been doing a dry hatch. Think I should add some water?

I have not hatched turkey eggs, so take this with a few grains of salt; I think the air cells look a little big, and I would up my humidity... but don't take my word, let's see if some turkey hatchers weigh in!

Thanks. I think they might be big too. I looked at some pics of the air cell chart online, but it's hard to tell since they are wonky.

In other news, I gave my broody silkie, Silver, 6 cream legbar eggs last night and somehow she managed to shove them under her with who knows how many eggs she already had. The 2 silkie and showgirl chicks I have left have been sticking by her for some reason. Here's a picture:

Now I'd freak out if I didn't know that bird was in my coop it is cute tho I got my flashlight 2000 lumen and irradiated my eggs lol out of 25 I have 19 growing 5 were infertile and one just stoped growing so in about 4 days it's lockdown only problem looked like the air sack was too big so I have increased the humidity up to 50% I'll probibaly lock it down earlier than day 18 because last time I had chicks on day 19 it scared me !! I'm afraid it might not be a good hatch it's theceggs I got after the attack so they are iffy at best also but my dutchie has 14 eggs under her little butt still can't figure how she can cover so many eggs but she is steadfast on her nest should know something this next week !!

Beautiful silkies! Good luck!!

I'm thinking the turkey egg air cells look a little large also, for as early as you are. I've only hatched a turkey once, but did it with ducks, and I've done a bunch of ducks. I think I'd bump the humidity up just a fuzz. Jmho.

She does kind of look like a muppet. Lol. The showgirls look like those creatures that can take off their heads in the Labyrinth. I put a damp sponge in with the turkeys.

19 out of 25 eggs seems pretty good to me. I bet they'll do just fine.

Are the silkies like that hard to raise? I might get interested in some as cute as they are

I love, love, love my silkies. They are super easy, but they go broody ALL THE TIME. So, don't count on their eggs. I have too many - I haven't counted in a while. But, I have 7 of them brooding in 1 big pile and another 2 solitary brooding.
