March 2017! Hatch with us!

That is interesting! I didn't know about lethal tufted genes. Thank you.

Hey, fellow hatchers!  I'm finally joining in for real.

My eggs from Papa's Poultry arrived today, intact and with plenty of extras. This is my first hatch that is not just one breed. I will be in for surprises, because I have:

-Four eggs coming from a pen of EEs and Ameraucanas mixed together, so I could get either of those. There is a range of pretty colours in the hatching eggs.

-Two eggs from a pen of Marans, Ameraucanas and Olive Eggers. (One egg is olive, so that's definitely an OE. The other is a nice dark Marans egg, but it could be an OE, if the roo was not another Marans, yes?)

-Two eggs are Jubilee Orpingtons
-Two eggs are Blue/Black/Splash Mottled Orpingtons

So excited!! :D

Congrats

glad they came in ok I'm afraid of shipped eggs being bad from rough handling

Sounds like a great mix! How did they fare in shipping? I wonder if the shorter trip made it easier on them? Or is all usps handling rough on eggs?

Just locked down (term used loosely since I'm a meddler) 10 lavender orps, 5 bantam cochins and 1 lone silver duckwing OEGB made it. One internal LO pip already, but development is all over the place! Never seen such a hatch. I doubt the Sdw will make it, and there are some questionables. This could be a long weekend....

Ooooohhhhh exciting!!

What do you think of these air cells? It's day 13 and they are turkey eggs. Two are really wobbly, that's why there's extra lines. All have poults developing. I've been doing a dry hatch. Think I should add some water?

Lovely turkey eggs!

Based on the charts I've seen and my own (chicken and peafowl) hatches, I would say these look a tad big for Day 13. The way I remember how they should look is this:

Day 7 - a yarmulke
Day 14 - a fez
Day 18 - a beret
(If you see the egg as a head.)

Those already look like berets to me. Just my thoughts...
