A beautiful sight! Congratulations!
Dear friend, so so sorry. You're the one who started us all out on this March 2017 hatching adventure together, and you've cheered everyone on all the way. So glad there are a few new peeps to soothe the disappointment. So sorry that there are not more.Eggtopsy day.... gotta figure out what went wrong...worst hatch rate I have ever had.
But in the midst of the "Ugh" part, there is some good news. 6 sweet little Swedish Flowers have made an arrival, along with 1 blue and 1 black Silverudd's Blues (was hoping for a splash too, to complete their spectrum), and 4 CLs (3 male, only 1 female).

Ok I'm a little bumpuzzled I know I might have compromised my hatch of eggs bringing in my Dutch eggs from the cold. But it's now day 21 and no signs as of yet only sign was day before yesterday I had an egg wiggle but that's it nothing since I have kept the temp as close as I could and the humidity I have kept between 65and 70 even with the others hatching my first group started hatching on day 19 and went from there no difference in methods except the bantam eggs any suggestions? And no I'll let them die in there till latest Wednesday or Thursday so they have a chance I have other eggs on the way
h I'm sorry all the Dutch eggs hatched but one I'm worried about my other eggs that were in lockdown that haven't done anything yet if I disrupted them while in lockdownhere for you.
If those eggs got really cold, it could delay them a couple days. So don't panic yet!
Noticed my day 14 broody was off her nest this morning. Went out a couple hours later, she was still off and the eggs were cold. Decided to bring them in, but by the time I went back out, she was back on them. She could do that every day without me knowing, so I won't rush her when next weekend gets here. They could be several days late.
Sorry you're dealing with this.
When you say "crooked beak", do you mean (what I've read called) scissor-beak in which the top and bottom of the beak do Not line up properly? Or do you mean and Not-straight beak?
My 11-26 hatch of 3 includes "Wavy", a pretty and docile male (best guess) whose beak begins to curl around to the side as if it were the very beginnings of what would be a very large semi-circle. It's subtle but noticible. In fact he was the first chick that got a name, Wavy (like the B+G ice cream flavor, Wavy Gravy). On his, both top and bottom follow the same curve. He's never had a problem eating the usual starter then food that the others eat.
So I thought there was nothing to "fix: except his ability to procreate, and since I doubt they neuter chicken males, plus he isn't near age enough, I've kept this on the back burner for something I have to figure out but non-emergency.
In your chick, does it sound similar? Do top and bottom line up? Would you plz post pics of your chick and I'll take and post pics of Wavy so we can compare.
*Just a BTW, in Wavy the parents are totally unrelated so I suspect a genetic fluke rather than line bred trait.
I'm so very sorry! I hope you find answers with the eggtopsies. Were these all shipped eggs? Sometimes the PO does more damage than we can tell before hatch day.Eggtopsy day.... gotta figure out what went wrong...worst hatch rate I have ever had.

Wonderful
I love flower names! Those are charming.Just a cute update about the 5 Brahma and 2 GLWs I adopted with Mima now 2 days ago.
They have in fact whispered their names in my ear.
Brahmas: In addition to Daisy and Tulip, we do have Sunflower, Azalea, and Ziva. (I plan to call the feed store this a.m. to nag them about ordering my male who will be Bougie for Bouganvillea)
GLWS: Ginger (aka the penguin) and Rosa. (they told me that since I'll already be on the phone with the feed store wouldn't Mind having some more sisters and a suitable future beau...yikes).
Now, to research Welsummers. (I will not buy more chicks, I will write 100 X on the black board while ordering more chicks).
I am so sorry that your hatch rate was not good this time...Eggtopsy day.... gotta figure out what went wrong...worst hatch rate I have ever had.

I am so sorry that your hatch rate was not good this time...I don't have the fortitude for eggtopsies myself, but I admire your dedication to figuring out what is going on. The rest of us can learn from you.
Let's cheer for those Swedish Flowers and their buddies! Any day with chicks is a day with sweetness, beauty and new life.![]()
