March 2017! Hatch with us!

I have 11 call duck eggs externally pipped! Almost half of them.

I have 22 cochin bantam mixed colors for sure going on lockdown tonight.  Started with 30 4 were not fertile and 4 got blood rings.  Excited to see this hatch be a success as I had a batch of 20 fail last month right after lockdown.  I'm going to be watching my incubator like a hawk.

We will all be hoping for the very best for your chickies! :ya

The final verdict on the zero growth Bieles (because, of course, I left them all in the incubator two more days just in case...) 2 may actually have something going on in them! :D (Which is why I always wait a bit, even after the first candle... and I know, I know, some of it is just blind optimism - can't help it. :) ) The rest were badly shaken - detached air cells, scrambled yolks. Packaging wasn't great on this shipment (most of the eggs were all shifted to one side of the box, two were broken; there just wasn't enough padding for them). And, I'm sure there was some rough treatment of the box during shipping.
As a prospective future egg shipper, I am learning a ton about the dos and don'ts of the process!

Woot! Woot!

:yesss:

I am hatching Welsh Harlequins...sexable at hatch. Drakes have a dark or black bill and females have a light bill with a black spot on tip...my two are text book perfect. I have two brooders set up to separate them. They start to lose this after 3 days.
