63 chicks hatched of the 73 that made it into lockdown. One I had to cull one because it wasn't doing well. so 62 chicks it is! They already had their Marek shot and immediately found the food. They are absolutely sweet ...

Day 22 the last of my 3 eggs was peeping up a storm, at 4 am, I ran upstairs to see it hatch and found it stuck! feet first and it's head out too!

I helped it out and it is back resting in incubator...

I need to confess, I've just bid on hatching eggs on eBay. Will need to get the incubator right back out. I'm not sure why I want the smell of baby chicken poop in the house for that long, but I guess I do?

Thanks, it was my first hatch so it was nice to have all of them hatch!

here are the photos, the names of the chicks are; Zazu, Thunder Storm, Hurrican, Captian Cream, and Taco. They are all from the same Rooster but three different RIR hens. I love the light coloured ones.

Here’s my crew. 8 eggs set and 8 healthy chicks. Not bad! I just cleaned the incubator and set four Ameraucana/Speckled Sussex eggs. Because why not, right? Oh, and I have an order coming from McMurray the week of the 12th, too...

Moved my quail eggs from the incubator to the Hatcher 2days ago. Not sure what happened, but my Hatcher decided to act up and drop the temp. I did not catch it until yesterday morning. Stuck all the eggs back into the warmer incubator and messed with the thermostat on the Hatcher. Every tine I turned it up, it would start to warm up and then drop again. I unplugged it and then plugged it in again and it has been running okay since. I went ahead and put the quail eggs back into the Hatcher and had 1 pip yesterday. I am sure the multi hour long drop in temp will effect my hatch rates, but hopefully not too bad. I went ahead and ordered a spare wafer and a spare thermostat just in case it does it again.
