***March Egg Swap*** APRIL SIGN UPS OPEN!~!~!~!~!

Shipping causes the air sacks to be mis-shapen. I have had fuzzybutts to hatch out just fine with them being twice as big as normal. Sometimes people say that if they get shipped eggs with weird air sacks that they won't turn them for the first seven days. I've never done this so I don't know how well it works.

I'm in but number 12 means no more frizzle sorry guys

I am sorry, even though they are special and I would love to make an exception I am going to stick with the rules.

I don't want to seem silly, but I'm not really understanding how Frizzles are no longer in the swaps according to this Rule #12 on color...if they were from 2 different color parents, wouldn't they be "mixed"? Were they some "special" variety? I'm new to the Frizz, & just have 2 8wk-old chicks, so was just asking for future reference. Thanks!

If I'm not mistaken its because you won't know what color chick your going to get. Like if the pen is all white you know you'll get white. Whereas if the pen is mixed colored the chicks will be as well...

But frizzles can be just one color without being "mixed", & even if there were 2 colors, it said "mixed was ok as long as it was clear that they were so. There's a "bantam mixed" & standard "mixed" category... Hmmmm. Me lost! LOL

true, but if you send them you will have to label them mixed and then you'll get mixed in return. Whereas if you send pure you'll get pure in return. Hope that helps!

if your eggs are lableled as mixed and you send them even tho the are pure to breed , they are considered mixed since different colors were being bred together and so you will get mixed eggs as well which could be eggs from mixed colored birds or mixed breed birds and you will not get pures , i believe is what tnlorprazer was saying .....

What if you fill the minimum number of 6 eggs with a pure breed/color, and then throw in the mixed eggs as a "bonus"?

Yes, just this weekend! I have some little black banties, a yellow one, and one that looks like a partridge. Not sure what they are, but they're really cute.
Thanks, Donnie!

We had to cull this little one today. It just didn't seem like it was getting any better. It couldn't sit up or turn itself over. It was painful to watch. All it did was lay there and peep. It broke my heart, but I got DH to take care of it today after I left for work.

The little BCM is doing fine. It is still unsteady on its little feet, but that didn't stop it from pecking me and the buff orp runt I put with it to keep it from being alone. I think the two of them are planning the overtaking of the planet.

Chickens can bring you so much joy and break your heart at the same time.

This was my best personal hatch (11/18 of my own eggs), but my purchased eggs and swap eggs, not so much (4/12 purchased eggs and 2/11 of swap eggs). I had three pip on the bottom of the egg. All three died. I ended up with 15/42.
