March Hatch A Long... anyone with me??

Hello. Can I join? I hatched out some baby chicks last summer and I was happy with my first hatch results 17 out of 42. One of the babies was a Mille Fleur roo who I gave to a friend of a friend. She loves him dearly and says he is a wonderful boy and guards her Buff Orpington girls. There is another rooster but he is not the alpha roo. Well I casually mentioned to my friend that I would be glad to trade eggs with this friend 1 dozen hatching eggs for 1 dozen eating eggs. Guess what? She brought them to me today! So looks like I will have March babies provided they are fertile. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Does he have any extras? What's he charge? I like the Ameraucans, but I'm one of those very picky people who love certain colors.I would like some Blues/Blacks/Lavenders. I had a couple of girls I really liked ,but a now extinct neighbor dog got them. One was a very light chocolate/fawn coloring and one was a very orangey/peachy girl...Very beautiful.

First, I am very sorry to hear about your girls being served at the doggy diner...glad that dog is no longer in the equation. The breeder told me had has a little over 2 dozen eggs saved for me...all under 10 days old: He probably has more and I can only use 24 or less. He is selling them to me $2 an egg (6 egg minimum plus cost of shipping if applicable), which sounded fair to me; to my knowledge only raises the blues and blacks. I think they are all so beautiful that I don't care what color they are, but I will continue to look for the other colors as well. He does ship...if you PM me, I'll give you his email address. He is located in Saucier, MS, which is pretty close to the middle of the state, so may not be too far from you. The original plan was to have him ship the eggs to me, but he and his wife are in their 70's and got SO excited about us being so close that they up and invited us to come over and pick them up instead. How can you say no to little old people and the chance to see the parent stock for the eggs?

I have been trying to get any shipped eggs from the closest source possible...to minimize postal service damage. The black copper marans in my bator (started pipping this morning) came from Houma Louisiana and got here overnight via postal service. I am dealing with a couple folks within 300 miles on some Buckeyes and Barnevelders too. I think my incubator is going to be running non-stop for a while....hatch, clean, repeat.

I am in Bay St Louis.Which,it takes me around 45 minutes to get there.(It took me 22 to get home from the mall in Slidell earlier...lol)It's close to the coast, nowhere near the middle,lol... It's not very far at all.I rehabbed a pitbull from the Saucier vet clinic back before the storm. Is it David Waldrop? If you have a number for him, that would be great.Their is plenty of good eating places too near him(just so you know...lol). You will actually have to pass me on your way to him if your taking I10(which you should). I live just a few miles South of NASA Stennis.

Put 3 more in that I didnt see today. For some reason 3 hens laid in the corner and I am pretty sure they were laid today. They have staid in for a couple days due to the snow.

We will be setting every week for the next few months,so I guess I'll be in every hatch along...lol.Endless quail orders, chick orders, egg orders, not to mention hatching my eggs for my own mini flocks.I have BBS Orpingtons due 3/2, OE I'm putting in tonight, Plus my OEGB are starting to lay and their are a few of them I want to hatch alot from(Opals,Self Blues,Chocos,Golden Barred), and still working on increasing my number and colors of Showgirls. I know about 700-1,000 quail a week, and all the chicks I can hatch,lol...

I am in, I have a dozen + mixed colored ameraucana's, olive eggers and easter eggers, coming around the 14th. Then some more olive eggers from dinahmoe later in the month. I will probably mix in a few from our own flock of BLRW over, Welsummers, BO, BA, EE, Splash BLRW, BR, and Ancona.

I really want some Lavender Orphington's, and might have to bite the bullet on them as well.
