I'm so sorry this happened to your flock, Bordergurl.

I sure hope all your eggs hatch.

And BBK, I think it is every chicken keeper's worst fear; that an unfamiliar dog will wander or be brought into their neighborhood and be a chicken killer. Dogs are the one thing I really try to protect against. Other predators usually kill to eat, but dogs just kill even if they're overfed. One seems much more forgiveable than the other, at least in my mind.

i can't wait to candled....i'm only on my real first day here...got them Thursday, set them Thursday 10PM, so friday didn't count, so it's saturday and i don't know if I can wait that long....also i've got some Wheaton Maran eggs coming next week too. i'm not sure how i'm going to handle this.... they're going to be a week off of each other... ok, first i guess is getting though this week.

I just set the 7 eggs in honour of the 7 lost yesterday. Keeping my fingers crossed for a barred rock roo to replace my boy! Sooo, I guess the chicks ae due Sat March 12th!

we just set 14 eggs, 12 of them are shipped

I set the eggs Friday night and my inbubator is holding the temp at exactly 100 with humidity is at 60.....so off to a good start for my bators maiden hatch. Now....think pullets everyone!!!
