March Hatch A Long... anyone with me??

day 7 today for me... candled, most are dark at one end by the air sac, but not at the pointy end... could see veins in the EE eggs, but the two brown eggs just have a blob area... wonder if they quit? Hard to tell comparing to the pics I have found here and elsewhere on line... guess I will have to wait and see!

I just set eggs in two incubators, one with 12 call duck eggs, and one with 25 chicken eggs of various breeds: 2 Blehm pure Ameraucana eggs, 8 Black Copper Marans, 9 Olive Eggers, and 6 porcelain Belgian D'uccles. The call ducks are due on March 21, the chicks on March 14 or 15 (since I set them so late in the evening).

Oh, and there's already 12 call duck eggs in two smaller 'bators cooking, due March 19th or 20th. Umm, and in another 'bator, 26 gold laced and silver laced giant Cochins. Those are actually scheduled to hatch March 1st.

Is it to late to join??

I have 7 call duckling due to hatch on the 5th, (keeping my fingers crossed) Just candled to day and all seem to be developing nicely.

I am getting ready to set the chicks for tomorrow.

3 Lav to black Auraucanas
5 blue to black bantam cochins
9 copper marans
21 BLRWs - LF

I hatched blk/bl Banty cochins last yr... seems like forever. they were beautiful and looked like lil bowling balls scooting along the grass.... I ended up selling them, b/c that's not what I wanted...

Do I count Day 1 as the day the eggs went into the incubator or the day after?

Well I candelled the eggs on Saturday (Day 8/9) and it looks like the Light Sussex isnt fertile, I will still leave it in for a bit longer 'just incase'.

All the others are looking good! ) I'm now on Day 11/12 and will candle again just before lockdown next week.

Keeping everything crossed.
