wishing you luck!

After lots of worrying, I have my first pip today, one of the lavender aruacanas. Also, a friend of a friend has just found three chicks in her garden, they have asked round, but no one knows anything about them, two have died because of cold, but the one left is being kept warm for tonight and being dropped off with me tomorrow to join whatever I have by then, so it at least has company. It will be interesting to see what it turns out as! Will be a nice surprise!

do you have others pipped if you do i would leave it alone so you dont risk the rest of the hatch but if not you could try and help it but move slow with removing any of the shell. only remove small bits at a time with breaks inbetween where you place the egg back in the incubator. dont remove the whole shell and remove where the chick would have zipped stop if you see any blood and i place a hot wet papertowel in to bump the humidity when i take an egg out to help. some have reported good results with getting a bath room really warm and humid and moving the whole thing into the bathroom when assisting a hatch. not sure if this will help you or not but good luck!

Oh dear, I don't know really. I had chicks resting after pipping for around 18 hours before they started to zipp but then it took like half an hour and they were out. Does it seem week or normal?

I have the first pip

Final results, out of 27 shipped eggs (2 different sellers), 19 went into lockdown. Hatched 5 out of 8 marans, 8 out of 9 olive eggers (marans roo over lavender ameraucana hens), and 1 out of 10 blue wheaten ameraucana (one very expensive chick - won't make that impulsive mistake again!) I'm thrilled!

It does feel like that some times, I felt like I was getting ignored but then I realized when my hatch time came then I realized what it felt like, everyone really gets into their hatches they get zoned out lol it isnt personal though at all though, I think the excitement takes over.
