So, I still have one early pipper and Im hoping for more tomorrow. I really really really dont want only one chick to hatch. The closest store to me that has chicks is 100 miles away!!!
I also set 59 (ordered 60 and 1 broke in shipping) Texas A&M quail eggs in the LG.
Funny story as to why Im incubating quail eggs. I got this box in the mail marked fragil. Im like what in the heck is this? So, I asked my dh and he said "dont you remember? I asked if I could order some quail eggs and you said sure". I told him that I had a foggy recollection on a conversation involving eggs for dinner but Im pretty sure I'd remeber if "he" wanted to incubate quail eggs. He said "no I asked and you said sure". So, Im thinking he asked me at a strategic time when I was involved with the BYC forum and was not paying any attention to what he was saying.
DH: "Can I order 50 +10 Texas A&M Quail Eggs, they are only 10 bucks including postage?"
Me (what I heard): Blah blah blah...eggs..blah blah blah...dinner...sure....
DH: Quickly hits the buy now button and purchases said eggs
Me:"So, am I making dinner or are you?"
DH: "Lets go out to eat."
Me" Sweet! I dont have to cook!"
Then a few days later The Box arrives and we have quail eggs! So I just set those and now I wait 17 to 19 days for the little dears to hatch. I've never incubated quail before. This will be quite the experience!
