Aww, Chickette, that doesn't sound very promising,

but I am no expert. I am on my third batch of shipped eggs, which also happens to be my third batch ever . I had a real problem with messed up air cells my last batch of shipped eggs, but I had such a hard time candling them(blue eggs) I just didn't realize. Could you post a pic that people could look at and get a better idea whats going on? I know what you are going through, I have been going through it, too!

I have 5 eggs which will go into lockdown on Monday, they were shipped and the air cells were trashed. I am trying incubating and hatching them in a carton this time, my first time trying it that way. I didn't turn them the first four days, and have only been tilting the egg carton to turn them, since. I tossed two with blood rings early on, one of those had an air cell which was completely broken, I could watch the air bubble travel all around the egg when I candled. The rest are doing ok to this point, but I lost so many right at the end last time, I am not getting my hopes up:(. I don't know if I will have any better luck this time, but I can't do any worse. I had 15 eggs make it to lock down and only 4 hatched from my last batch of shipped eggs, NONE hatched from one breeder, and 4 out of 5 from the other.

I am not sure how to post pics but I do agree that it does'nt sound normal. I will candel the 17 eggs tonight and go from there. I actually started out with 48 eggs and many were clear then the rest gradually stopped during the days after. They are mostly light sussex eggs so they are very easy to see through. I was surprised how easily I can see through them. Thank you for the time to respond. I will be watching for updates on your hatch. Good chicken hatching luck to you

Right now, we are less than 24 hours into lockdown. I have 1 chick out, 1 pipped and completely zipped and prying his/her way out, and 4 more pips. More are rocking back and forth. They're not even due to hatch until Saturday.

Hatch day is better than Christmas, and it comes more than once a year. In this case, this is the second time this month.

(We "suffer" from MBS, or "Multiple Bator Syndrome", and can do more than one hatch a month.... uh oh.)

How exciting! I hope mine don't make me wait forever and at least start pipping in 24 hours. Candled before lockdown now I'm down to 13 eggs. I had some from day 15 that I was iffy on and by today I was sure nothing was gonna hatch outta two of them. Have a handful of others I have my doubts about. If any of them hatch I'll be lucky since they were shipped eggs and I pretty much tried to nuke them the first week due to a thermometer error on my part.

How long is the longest to leave them in before giving up on them hatching?
