March Hatch-A-Long.( How is it gettting here so quick ? LOL )

You should be just fine with the humidity spike at hatching, it's pretty normal when you have a bunch hatching at once...is it a staggered hatch or will they all hatch within a couple of days of each other?

I set all 41 on the same day, so they are all hatching at once. I really appreciate the reply thank you!

We took out the ones that didn't hatch, but are keeping them nested over the wood stove to stay warm. Then put fresh eggs under her for the March hatch. She seemed happy with the new eggs and was placing them. I took a picture of the little girl with the bigger ones from a week ago and there is a big difference. Noticed that she is really learning fast from the older ones. Also took a picture of my extra large egg with banty eggs and one of it with a normal egg. That hen had to be crying when she got off the nest.

When I started with my chickens last summer I didn't know that I was going to get so hooked. Now have to plan when we go somewhere if we get back by dark or go after putting the chickens up. Maybe even talking a grand child to filling in for us, since they all can drive and enjoy the eggs.

And the majority live within a mile.

Just candled at the end of day 10. Of 29 eggs, I saw 9 definate movers, another 1 moving but didn't see any air cell at all :/, 3 blood rings I threw in the trash, & 1 detatched air cell ( but sweety made me put that one back, just incase LMBO! But it was 1 of 6 eggs I paid for), the other 6 I paid for I don't see ANYTHING!! But they are all bantam so hoping I'm just missing something. So 9 more that look ok just didn't see movement yet. 11 more days!!!!! I sure hope my banties hatch!!!

Man, a couple of you are hatching a lot of eggs! Are you keeping the chicks? You must have a lot of land! Wish I did!

Idk if my 29 r considered a lot. Lol But I will keep up to 4 out 7 of my bantams, if any hatch, after I can tell their sex. I've sold however many Buff Orpingtons hatch, only set 14 of those, and hatching the rest for my bf's co worker. But. Fixing to start collecting for the next hatch! Lol

Still waiting here. We're on day 20 by my count, so all is not necessarily lost yet. No pips, no rocking, no peeps, nothing yet. The suspense is killing me. After all the drama with this bunch, I'm really hoping a couple hatch. I have another bath going in on Thursday - back to back is how we are doing it this spring.

Our first hatch, 14 duck Runner duck eggs went in, candled and 11 were looking great, removed 3 non viable eggs. The 3 removed were ones that had been late getting collected so likely froze before we got them. Hatch day should be march 24. Planning on adding 20 chicken eggs today. Any advice for mixing chicken and ducks in the incubator? They should all hatch about the same time since duck eggs were started earlier, but we are new to this so....
