March Hatch-Along Thread- Come Hatch With Us!!!!!

The same happened to me with y GSBR eggs I ordered directly from Frank Reese. I so badly wanted these eggs to hatch and out of 11 eggs set only 5 made it to lockdown. We are on Day 22 and nothing from them.

WHY is it the ones you want the MOST DONT HATCH? Why not something you already have or dont care?JUSt like my cat scratching on the BEST chair in the house.. the little devil...Oh another subject

aprilschicks & theh klan of10 -- I will have some hatch along with yours! I have a few groups due to hatch throughout the month

The 11th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16, 18, 22, as well as the 30th so far!!! Larger groups on the 11th, 13th, & 30th the others are a couple each, some even 1 egg
Consisting of Coturnix quail, Japanese Bantams, Easter Eggers, EE crosses, & Cayugas(for the Easter hatch)

I caught hatching fever for sure!

And speaking of shipped eggs- one of my frizzles hatched and another almost out. I did have to help tho cause #1 has been pipped more than 24 hrs, not making much progress at all. So I helped zip the shell, then put it back in- it's nearly kicked itself out now. #2 pipped wrong end, then preceded to zip long ways up the shell, but it made it out! I candled #3, still could not tell anything. I decided to make a pip and take a look. Fully formed chick completely shrink wrapped like a mummy & dead! So looks like I'll have 2 chicks from my frizzle hatch. better than I expected honestly!

Woot woot! Do you know which frizzles they were? She had like 6 different crosses or something right? I hope they both end up with the frizzle feathers!!

Rox I'm with you- have no idea what I'm gonna do w/ all of them. DH asked me today " can't you just still talk to all those BYC'ers even if you are not hatching anything"

I just about peed my pants laughing at him! I said of course I can, but it's more fun if I'm hatching too- his response was "Oh" hehehee!!! He has no idea about the lemon cuckoo orps & SLW eggs that are on the way!

It's hard to keep chatting without any eggs in the bator! 1 week,,... I need to hold out 1 week, then I'm back in the game. Why did I have to break my broody? I could have eggs under her right now! But... I'm a momma hen to her too, and she needed to gain some weight back & get healthier so she could start laying her own eggs again. Next time she goes broody though, I'm setting eggs under her! It should be warmer outside & that will be better for her and the eggs.

Of coarse it's FUN FUN FUN, hatching eggs is addictive, can I hear an amen?

I really believe we will someday, see something on a television series on addictions..and yes, hatching eggs will be there.

Just candled my eggs and the ones that were set two days later look a LOT like the older ones...so they might hatch early, who knows! Lockdown starts Tuesday, and I'll be turning on the hatch cam in case we have any earlybirds

I'll be back in a while after I eat something- but I had to just jump on here and say I won the

eggs I wanted!!! These are the last ones I wanted, colombian wyandotte bantams YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Can ya'll tell I'm just a little bit excited? Mercy I can't even stand myself right now

Oh yea, and BOTH my frizzle babies are hatched! The first is black, has little white tips on it's wings & the other looks blue. I'll post pics when they fluff. Can't tell yet if they will be frizzle or smooth, but white they are still wet their fluff, does not look like normal chick fluff. I do see on the black one that the wing 'fluff' is curling every which way.... We'll see-
