Same here Eggs look good.day 17 ..and a friend even hatched mine got 9 out of 14!!!....me....1 hatches ....2....3 maybe tops I am actually HAPPY with 3!
Today day 22 and out of 6 one trying to hatch and might have to help it.I am depressed... I am getting so tired of assisting b/c is hard to know when . .Guess i dont want to think that hard LOL
Or maybe you are like me and just want some healthy hatches! I candled my sultan & polish eggs tonight out of 16 set, only 10 were developing the other day- now out of the 10 I only see 1 moving around, several look like they quit and can't really tell about the others

Roxanne you need to clean your bators out. With every hatch there is a bacteria bloom that can cause the next eggs not to hatch. Even if you take one out of circulation, clean it and then swap eggs from the next bator. until all your bators are cleaned. I learned this the hard way in January.
I clean my hatching bator after each hatch. Have not cleaned my big bator yet cause I've had eggs in it since I set it up- but since none hatch in there I think it should be ok?

Is this normal? If not please let me know if I can do anything to help out. This chick hatched about 2 hours ago.

What is it we are looking at? The black toes? That looks normal to me. My chicks have black legs/beaks for no reason. Is it a purebred chick or mix? If it is a mix, it is prolly just the genes doing things.

Yes, my question was about the black toes. They look scabbed over, and missing a claw on one of them.

Banty, I have NO idea what that is. Maybe a monster vein? Is the embryo moving??

3D, that looks like a banged up toe. Not sure what you could do about it :\

I have another pip! So far Olive, Si, and Rose are pipped, and Olive is teasing me by not coming out. My first ones to hatch ALWAYS take for-freakin'-ever!
