I love these bators. I used to own the forced air. Since I sold them, because I thought I best slow down,I've been using my still air. I just had a 75% hatch in one, and over 50% hatch in another for the Feb. Hatch along. I have had some bad hatches..but I usually have really good ones in these bators. I forgot all about how good until I sold my forced air. I did pretty good in those, but I've only had one bad hatch since I started with the still again..and that was with my BR's. It took forever for the eggs to get here..thinking that was one reason. Plus, this guy had a ... huge... amount of birds! I had once chick that had an eye missing and a crossed beak. Have had that in silkies and showgirls, only another time in LF. So, wondering about the genetics there as to why it was a bad hatch. Anyway, love, love, the still air.![]()
Only thing, if you are using a turner, keep the temp down lower. Those turners bring the eggs right up by the heating elements. Don't need the temp nearly as high. Around 97/98.
