March Hatch-Along Thread- Come Hatch With Us!!!!!

lady, nice movement..and perfect air sac for this time!

How in the world are you guys getting video? I've tried. Doing something wrong.

Hey ya'll!!!!!! Just caught up, geez! I candled last night, all 42 are fertile, veins, and eyes looking at me. So I'm going to be swimming in chick a doodles! I am glad I've got these spoken for. But I am excited nontheless, especially knowing now I have a good chance in a good hatch rate when I set some for us. So I feel so much better about this adventure! Go MEEEEEEEEEEE

Hey all I'm back aswell after my good/ not so good hatch ( 10/22) my next dates are 8/16/20/21 march.. I'm turning with the hand have a homemade inc.. Just wondering are there a difference in hatch rate if eggs are on side or in carton standing up? Mine are on side? Good luck to everyone :)

I have turkey eggs set to hatch on the 4th if they are fertile (I don't have my good light yet and just not happy with what incandescent light showed), and ameraucanas on the 11th.

Just did a number count on my eggs
24 yes
1 no
8 maybe's

I set 43 in total so I think I'm doing pretty good so far for the first time around

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The maybe's are most of the ee's eggs which are really dark green, so I might even have more than that? Those are going to need to be watched, the no is another dark green egg, didn't see anything in that one but who knows really was dark so it's still up in the air

I'm so glad that everyone is back! I feel so much better seeing friendly faces...everyone welcome!!!!! Good luck

I love these bators. I used to own the forced air. Since I sold them, because I thought I best slow down,

I've been using my still air. I just had a 75% hatch in one, and over 50% hatch in another for the Feb. Hatch along. I have had some bad hatches..but I usually have really good ones in these bators. I forgot all about how good until I sold my forced air. I did pretty good in those, but I've only had one bad hatch since I started with the still again..and that was with my BR's. It took forever for the eggs to get here..thinking that was one reason. Plus, this guy had a ... huge... amount of birds! I had once chick that had an eye missing and a crossed beak. Have had that in silkies and showgirls, only another time in LF. So, wondering about the genetics there as to why it was a bad hatch. Anyway, love, love, the still air.
Only thing, if you are using a turner, keep the temp down lower. Those turners bring the eggs right up by the heating elements. Don't need the temp nearly as high. Around 97/98.

I don't understand what you are saying by keeping the temp lower due to the turner raising the eggs.I would keep a thermometer on the level of the eggs and regulate at 99.5 no matter what.
