Muscovy ducklings started hatching Thursday and finished yesterday I suspect. Mom had them out in the sun today and took them for their first swim. Got ten in this hatch.

I got 13 babies, chilling in the bator. Im starting to teach them to drink, but I'm not seeing them eat to much. The majority hatched yesterday morning and day. So when do they start picking up with eating /drinking? I know they can go 3 days but I want to make sure they are eating/drinking good before I leave tomorrow.

The babies are doing really well...happy little peeps!!

Such great news about your hatch.I am really happy for you..
Don't worry to much about the eating they will start picking when they are ready....instinct............
I read that a person can tap on the food..like mama hen would, to give them the idea..............
And if one starts.the others cannot stand it and follow suit...
They will be fine...................Really

cute little buggers.1 each of a blue and a black English Orp.....1 BLRW.................

Can't wait to see the ducks.
A friend wants me to hatch duck eggs for them but I have never done this before...I don't know.
Would hate to kill thier eggs....................

Everyone is doing so well hatching....took me several tries..........
One batch I filled the inc. with shipped eggs.expensive of course, and I killed the whole darned thing............
humidity to high............painful lesson.

I'm getting lots of pictures and will post some very soon. I ended up with 13, I threw out 14. They were in different stages of development but they would never have hatched. The ones that we got are the cutest buggers!!! My daughter is loving being a chicken momma. It might take me awhile to figure out who the chicken parents are.

I love guessing who they belonged too, when were hatching they were popping out so I ddnt see which came of what.

Hes sure a little strange one! Einstein with the eyebrows? Wonder if they will go away like the other feathers did on my bigger orp roos Probably will.

Lost one of my oldest girls today

They were all fine running around but it was pouring rain 2 inches deep every place and she was near a wire that goes to one of the coops not sure if she bit it or stepped on it and it killed her or what happened she wasnt hurt or burnt just dead.
My yard looks like a lake all the runs are total mud and water and still pouring,.

I am in a bad mood as is everyone here in Mo ...its getting REAL old....... rains and snow every week UGG GRUMPY

I feel ya. This weather is such a DRAGGG.... 80 degrees on Friday and now it is 30 degrees, windy and flooding everywhere.
