March Hatch-Along Thread- Come Hatch With Us!!!!!

One of the first BR chicks I hatched out had an Einstein hairdo so we named him Einstein. He is now my #2 Roo.

Brook, I had to throw out 6 of the BR eggs last night.

I knew it. They quit. I had thrown a clear on out sooner. So 7 are gone. Those saddle air sacs are just bad news. I am crossing fingers for three that look good and are moving around. I am not quite sure about the other one. Keeping it until I know for sure. I still may get a couple.

I heard chirping last night before I went to bed. Just figured it was probably one of the silkie eggs. Got up this morning, and the large NN/RIR is pipped! They are due tomorrow. Hatching these for a friend, and thought I would join this Hatch A Long while at it.
It's been fun..now, the real fun begins, because this is going to be like Christmas..these chicks have some different possibilities as how they will turn out. I get to pick what I want, if any, then the others go back to her. :))

I feel ya. This weather is such a DRAGGG.... 80 degrees on Friday and now it is 30 degrees, windy and flooding everywhere.

Went to Wally Friday sunny warm,...everyone is being nice polite cheery with a smile and comment a chuckle . Then yesterday everyone ignoring each other sour looks.NO talking at all. LOL

Think we caught up on the drought yet? AND THEN SOME!!!

This is my first ever hatch, so no experience talking here, but the manual for my Brinsea incubator also says you can decrease temps by 2 degrees F for hatching. However it doesn't make it sound required. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in.

Best of luck with your hatch.
I dont think most of us do lower it .I try and keep it at 99.5 the whole time I think thats 37.5 C ?
I guess some do that as sometmesi it might go up a tiny bit at hatch but not a lot really Humidity is your main concern at hatch GOOD LUCK!!!.

And I'm really crazy b/c I have to get up in like 2 hrs to get back to stripping the stall floors down! I think that's why I can't sleep- I'm too tired. Worked myself half to death, then couldn't sleep. I'll be dead on my ft in a few hours ...
That can happen take care!

One chick is out! She's resting with the cap on her head. Me and 2 friends from work walked in just in time to watch her push out. It was so cool to watch; I'm sure had anyone witnessed us they would have laughed til they cried at our enthusiasm. ;)

wow can you tell I'm tired? Can't talk or type

If Pug many of mine generally dont eat the first day but the second or 3rd they start
If by day 2 one still looks real sleepy and not interested in things sickly i try a little sugar water and vitimin drop with some crumbles thru an eye dropper
Its still very liquid mostly sugar water to perk them up and they usually do take off after 3 or 4 feedings.
I do that about every 2 hours then they begin to eat unless they have some problem .
